Nice attempt on the CGI but can’t anyone write at least a decent story anymore? Alien invaders?! Come on! Sooo lame, what’s this industry going to? Grabe if there’s a MadCat there’s an Asong-Ulol. Oh well, that’s pinoy for you…unique by copying…hanep sa irony.

mabuhay ang pelikulang pinoy!!! this is the movie i’ve been waiting for that Filipinos could come up with. awesome script, cool cinematography. away with those crappy love stories (i.e. one more chance).

They better not mess this one up. This might be the salvation (in Pinoy Sci-fi movie circles) we have all been waiting for. I’m already fed up with Pinoy copycats that borrow concepts from other films.
MAKE US PROUD.

riot inc., is known for their works in gma like mulawin and encantadia… the visual effects are very promising indeed… but bong revilla revealed last sunday on SOP that, YES, the movie’s graphics are purely made pinoys… im proud of it… but the sound recordings of the movie, which is by the way a very impressive dolby surround 7.1… were recorded in Thailand… kelan ba tau magkakaroon ng magandang post-production studios with state-of-the-art facilities dito sa pilipinas… hmmm… sana soon!

There’s this buzz I heard na the fight/action soundtrack was composed and performed by razorback.
Kung totoo ito, I’m sure it will rock. I can only imagine the robots fighting it out to the tune of razorback!

Yo-kinam!

KinamYo!
Try watching ROBO Jax, Aliens, Matrix Revolution, Macross/Robotech and your beloved Mech-warriors and look for similarities. All Follow a certain paradigm of design that is based on natural skeletal formations of both Cord and noto-cord based organisms, digitigrades and plantigrades. There will always be similarities of design in every creation human beings make especially when you put physics in the design. Good God! Every one is a critic.

i agree with the comments… in fact i was thinking about these since the philippine television started venturing on CGI…
why is it that the stories written were so filled with flaws, so much like a rip-off of some old hollywood movie
sylphunter / December 23rd, 2007, 3:03 pm / #
I agree with kadyongsikad, there WILL ALWAYS be similarities. There are only 8 notes in music, but it’s the way you let them flow with each other that makes original music.
Still, I hope no straight, in-your-face ripoffs will be found in this movie. I am quite proud of it too, but if I see the aforementioned, well, what a waste it would be.
I’m gonna watch this in cinemas. If it’s good, I’ll buy a CD. Supportahan ninyo; wag mag-pirate!!!

This is the time i think i should be saying I’m not a Filipino i absolutely would not recommend this big mouthed recycled movie!!! at the start till the end they were obviously trying to copy the ideas of The Transformers from the revolving arm to the meteor supposedly hitting the planet. Resiklo (recycle) is ironic on the title, and I’m sure, when any of the International critics watch this movie, they will surely laugh at it declaring us once again, the Filipinos, to be scavengers of other productions success. the Robots on the movie in the first place looks like recycled Parts from the remains of the Transformer robots they hardly even rotate their arms!!! the walking is too slow, as if 100 frames/second or LESS!!! more on http://critiko.blogspot.com/

At least mas breakthrough yung CGI nila, siguro sa susunod, story nman ang i improve natin, at sana supportahan nlang natin kasi pilipino rin ang kikita nyan. Mas ok na to kaysa sa panday, mulawin at iba pang naunang pantaseryeng pelikula.

i’ve seen the movie yesterday.. (Dec 26, 2007)
(maybe i expected too much, but anyway..)
maganda yung story, actually!!
lalo na yung part na… ooops!! sorry!!
muntik ko nang masabi.. hehehe
the story’s not finished so i’m looking forward to the sequel..
and i think contis’ character would make a great Mutano,
you know, the-character-being-a-great-help-to-the-protagonists-then-turns-into-an-enemy-in-the-next-movie!!
just watch it guys. sa sinehan ha! wag sa pirated cds! sayang naman yung effort ng produksyon ng IMUS kung di rin tau manonood dun sa LEGAL

As graphic artist,I know how difficult it is to create 3D models with such kind of renderings and animations. A challenge to all Filipino Artists…

UUnlad din to.

Indeed its true, the effects are astounding compared to panday and other movies before, however, they were so boastful not thinking that critics like us appear in this world, if they have just been humble on the first place baka mapatawad ko pa sila. they were just trying to uplift public curiousity at first, para akong nanood ng advertisement ng Imus about 3D graphics at Revilla Father and Sons Inc., very not my style to pay for a commercial. Get it?

Ans:(I do suport Filipino Movies, kaya nga andito ako as a critic eh without us critics, they will never know where did they went wrong)
Comment: Kung nagkulang man ang isang movie sa isang aspect, tingnan nalang ntin ung maganda dito.
Ans:(hindi lang sila nag kulang, nang-lamang sila ng masa, they were so boastful of announcing that they can be compared with international cgi made movies just to gain public curiousity then all that we saw were their own Company Experimentations and Advertisements)
Ans:( Indeed i know hirap na hirap silang gawin to due to limited resources and experiences as we may see, and i would understand the outcome of this if they just have been humble to the public on the first place, hindi yung para silang naka gantyo.)
UUnlad din to.
Ans: (expect me to support Filipino Movies, I’m just here to comment on my side and what do i think of it. im here to criticize, to let the industry know what they lack and what do they have so much.)

Now-a-days, any body can claim the title, “Critic”. Especially in the electronic highway where identities are concealed and where idiosyncratic people play roles that they could not handle in a tangible world.
Gone are the days when critics have philosophical handles that they use to define a certain form offered by the artist.
A critic identifies the art or message in any creation and offers to define how it is perceived by the people.
Gone are the days when a critic appreciates all aspects of any creation, be it for art or for decoration or for entertainment.
A critic is supposed to be a judge of art. A judge determines the limits of ones actions and defines its place in the society POSITIVELY AND UNBIASED.
To criticize is not to down-grade. To criticize is to define with philosophy as a backbone.
So, Before you go on and pretend that you are an authority of any art or industry and claim the right to critic, please equip your mind with academic handles and sociological backgrounds. Saying what one feels on a certain topic does not make one a critic.
I appreciate the movie for how it is defined by both the makers and the target viewers: A product of hard work by the makers and An entertainment material or fantastic escape for the masses.
Thanks for reading what I think.
Peace.

Grrreat movie, in totality! We’re going to where Hollywood movie effects and stories have gone. This movie will be reckoned as the one that revolutionized modern Filipino movie film-making.
I’m just anxious to know the titles of the soundtracks featured in the movie, especially the scene that the inhabitants of Paraiso are doing their ‘panata.’ Very dramatic, very appropriate. I hope you decide to churn out a soundtrack for this movie in the record bars. That would be kewl!
